Sri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare hey natha Narayana Vasudeva Hey natha Narayana Vasudeva hey natha Narayana Vasudeva– Beautiful Govinda, the friend of the cows, the one who is the Lord of the senses and who destroys the demon Muri. In the beginning was the word and the word was God (Om) lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu– May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all shantih, shantih, shantih– Peace, Peace, Peace Kali Durga namo namah– I bow to the fierce Goddess emanating out of benevolence make me humble and take away my pride. OM is the original and most powerful mantra. ♫ Hey natha Narayana Vasudeva hey natha Narayana Vasudeva. ♫ ♫ Sri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare hey natha Narayana Vasudeva ♫ Kirtana practice involves chanting hymns or mantras to the accompaniment of instruments such as the harmonium, tablas, the two-headed mrdanga or pakhawaj drum and hand cymbals ( karat alas). She would sing the following scripture and we repeated: Music and Scripture: Jivamukti practices Kirtan which is call-and-response chanting. In Katie’s workshop, I learned that Jivamukti composes 5 important elements, such as: Music, Scripture, Devotion, Non-Violence, and Meditation. ॐ I have taken Jivamukti classes before, but never understood the true meaning or philosophy behind it. My experience of the Jivamukti workshop was heart-warming. Its always nice to reflect on the first moments in life. It was also nice to hear from her that it was cool to see how much my practice has evolved, since I first started. I never knew Katie could sing that beautifully. It was a beautiful practice, along with harmonic chanting and singing. After attending it this past Saturday, October 11th, I was filled with gratitude and very happy and proud of her. Katie took her Jivamukti Teacher Trainingearlier this year, so when I heard about her workshop, I definitely wanted to check it out.

I eventually moved back to Miami in January 2014 & dedicated myself to Yoga. I became an Instagram Yogi junkie quickly and grew fond of Asana (postures), Meditation and Pranayama. I took my interest with me back to the island and started taking Yoga classes regularly, as well as self-teaching through YouTube and Instagram, and making friends with others of the same love for Yoga. I have been a dancer all my life, and after seeing the beauty in Yoga, I discovered a new way to channel my inner dancer. Ever since then, I became addicted to Yoga. She was one of the core influences for introducing me to Yoga. The beauty in her flow, and certain poses she could do, such as her King Pigeon and Dancer’s pose, caused a deep curiosity inside of me. At the time, I was living on an island, named Curacao, and visiting Miami. I met Katie through a mutual friend during Summer of 2013. A few days ago, I took a Jivamukti workshop at my home studio: Green Monkey– taught by my lovely friend Katie Love.
