Ditto Killing Joke's MMXII, another fine record by some great old dudes. I also liked Unsane's Wreck, but while heavy, it's not heavy metal, so I left it off as well. It's a masterpiece, but not a metal album, so I didn't include it here. Before we begin, note Swans' The Seer was my overall No. I don't think it was necessarily a better or best or whatever year for the genre, but I felt more strongly connected to more releases than I have for quite some time.
